The Matinée started in Akron's Highland Square historic area in the fall of 2006 by Mario Nemr (and pals), the long time resident DJ and fixture of Akron's infamous alternative nightclub, Thursday's Lounge.
The Matinée, located at 812 W. Market St., Akron, was an instant hit within the local music scene, attracting native and national bands with it's warm atmosphere, small stage and amazing sound system. Furthermore, an excellent beer and wine list made The Matinée a welcoming spot for just about anyone who enjoys the nightlife.
The Matinee is now open Monday - Saturday from 11am to 2:29am. Sundays from 10am - 2am. Happy Hour daily from 4pm - 8pm. $2.50 Bombs and $2.00 selected beers.
